Why this film

Clean, strong wraps on any machine.

  • FDA-compliant polyolefin

Approved for direct food contact, so the same film wraps bakery, confectionery and produce as well as books, boxes and printed goods. No chlorine, no odour, no yellowing — unlike PVC.

  • Centerfold, ready to load

Folded in half lengthwise: a 14 in. roll opens to a 28 in. sheet with a ready-made pocket. Slide the product in, seal two sides, shrink. The standard format for L-bar sealers.

  • Crystal clear, tight shrink

High clarity and gloss for a retail-ready finish, with fast, even shrink in a heat tunnel or under a heat gun. Strong seals, no fish-eyes, no crow's feet at the corners.

  • Runs on any sealer

Manual L-bar, I-bar, semi-automatic and automatic sealers and tunnels — one film for the whole floor. Not sure which gauge? Start with 75.

FAQ

Shrink film questions, answered.

What is polyolefin (POF) shrink film, and how is it different from PVC?
Polyolefin is a clear, high-shrink film that is stronger and more puncture-resistant than PVC, gives off no chlorine or odour when heated, does not yellow, and is FDA-compliant for direct food contact. It is the standard film for L-bar and I-bar sealers; PVC is cheaper but brittle, smelly under heat and not suitable for food.
Which gauge do I need?
60 gauge for light single items such as cards, notepads and small boxes. 75 gauge is the all-purpose choice and our best seller — books, boxed goods, food and retail packs. 100 gauge for multi-packs, bundling and anything with corners or edges that could puncture a lighter film.
What width should I order?
Take the product's width plus its height, add about 2 in. for clearance, and round up to the next stocked width. A 10 × 8 × 1 in. book, for example, runs comfortably on 12 in. centerfold film.
Centerfold or single-wound?
Centerfold film is folded in half before winding, so one roll opens into a full-width sheet — the format for L-bar and I-bar sealers, and everything we stock. Single-wound film is a flat, unfolded sheet used by side sealers; ask us if your machine needs it.
Is it food safe?
Yes. All of our polyolefin film is FDA-compliant for direct food contact, so it is suitable for bakery, confectionery, produce and other consumer goods without a barrier layer.
How many packages will a roll do?
Roughly the roll length divided by the package length plus 2 in. A 3,500 ft roll of 75 gauge wraps about 3,800 items 9 in. long. Longer rolls mean fewer changeovers; we price case quantities for higher-volume lines.
