EU2-1000MF

Large-Format UV Flatbed Printer — 96" × 48" bed

1.58× faster than the EU-1000MF

— up to 390 sq ft per hour in CMYK on a full 4 × 8 ft sheet, from a Gen 6 printhead in a 4- or 6-head configuration.

The EU2-1000MF is Roland DG's production UV flatbed for boards, panels and rigid sheet: a 96 × 48 in. vacuum bed with four zones and alignment pins, media up to 3.74 in. thick, and a new-generation Gen 6 printhead that runs at 50 kHz for 1.58 times the speed of the EU-1000MF. Order it with four heads (CMYK) or six (CMYK + white + gloss), and run it on E-US ink from 2.5 L tanks fed by 1-litre bottles.

Gen 6 Printhead

1.58× the throughput of the EU-1000MF

The industrial Gen 6 head fires at 50 kHz with 5 to 15 pl drops, against 30 kHz and 7 to 21 pl on the previous generation. That is 390 sq ft/h in CMYK draft and 194 sq ft/h in standard 8-pass mode on a full sheet, with a removable head cable that makes service quicker.

4 or 6 Heads

Buy the configuration your work needs

Staggered four-head CMYK for board and panel work, or six heads adding double white and double gloss for backlit, clear and textured jobs. Ink lives in 2.5 L tanks with real-time digital level display, topped up from 1-litre E-US bottles.

Vacuum Bed

Four zones, pins and 3.74 in. of clearance

The 96 × 48 in. bed splits into four individually switched vacuum zones with one-touch controls, positive air pressure to float heavy sheets into place, and solenoid alignment pins for repeatable registration. Media up to 95 mm thick and 45 kg/m² is supported.

Safety

Built for a shared production floor

Light-barrier panels and front and rear proximity sensors form an invisible fence around the gantry, media collision guards stop the print the instant a sheet lifts into the head path, and emergency stops sit on all four corners. Liquid-cooled LED lamps cure without heat build-up.

What the EU2-1000MF produces

Direct-to-board printing on rigid sheet up to 96 × 48 in. and 3.74 in. thick — no roll printing, laminating or mounting step.

A four-step production workflow

Roland DG Connect Designer, VersaWorks 7, and the BY2-20 work together as one connected design-to-print workflow.

Load the sheet

Positive air pressure floats the board across the bed; the alignment pins square it up, and one-touch controls switch on only the vacuum zones under the sheet.

Set up in the RIP

VersaWorks 7 prepares the file, and PrintExp control software on the workstation sets head height, print mode and origin — the default origin point is adjustable by 100 mm.

Print

The Gen 6 head lays down CMYK, or white and gloss with CMYK, while the liquid-cooled LED lamps cure each pass. Collision guards halt the job if a sheet lifts.

Unload and repeat

Prints are cured and handleable straight off the bed. Release the vacuum zones, slide the next board against the pins and start again.

Frequently asked questions

How much faster is the EU2-1000MF than the EU-1000MF?

Roland rates it at 1.58 times faster. In actual print times on a full sheet that is 390 sq ft/h in CMYK draft against 149 sq ft/h, and 194 sq ft/h in standard 8-pass mode against 81 sq ft/h. The gain comes from the Gen 6 printhead running at 50 kHz.

Should I order four heads or six?

Four heads run CMYK and suit board, panel and sign work on white or light stock. Six heads add double white and double gloss for printing on clear acrylic, dark or coloured substrates, backlit panels and textured or spot-gloss finishes. The configuration is chosen at purchase, so tell us the jobs you run and we will recommend one.

What can it print on?

Rigid sheet up to 96 × 48 in., 3.74 in. thick and 45 kg/m²: foam board, PVC, acrylic, aluminium composite, corrugated plastic, wood, glass and similar. The four-zone vacuum bed holds smaller pieces without masking the whole table.

What ink does it use and what does it cost?

E-US UV ink in 1-litre bottles, poured into 2.5 L tanks on the machine. It is GREENGUARD Gold certified and lists at $114.99 USD per litre. The E-US-CL10 cleaning liquid is required for installation and is ordered with the first ink set.

What does the site need?

A single-phase 220 V, 32 A hardwired circuit installed by an electrician, a climate-controlled room at 18 to 25 °C and 40 to 70 %RH, and roughly 21 × 13 ft of floor including working clearance. The crate weighs 3,960 lb. and needs a 5,000 lb. forklift with 72 in. forks to unload; a Roland-trained technician then uncrates and positions the machine.

What is the warranty?

One year from Roland DGA, with registration within 60 days and continuous use of Roland-approved ink. Extended service contracts are available, and Roland Care Packs (wipers, cap tops, ink pad, swab kit and cleaning kit) are installed at months 6 and 12.
