BN2 Series

Desktop Printer/Cutters — BN2-20A & BN2-30

Print and cut on a desktop

— a machine small enough for a home office or a corner of the shop that still produces outdoor-durable graphics.

The VersaSTUDIO BN2 Series puts professional print and contour cutting on a desktop. Eco-Sol MAX2 and MAX3 inks give vivid colour with genuine outdoor durability, and print speeds run roughly four times the original BN-20 in standard mode. Design and output software is included, so the machine produces saleable work from the day it arrives rather than after a training course.

Speed

Around four times the original BN-20

In standard mode the BN2 runs roughly four times the speed of the original BN-20, at 25.2 ft²/h in CMYK. High-quality mode holds 12.2 ft²/h at 1,440 × 1,080 dpi, so the step up from draft to saleable output does not cost a whole afternoon.

Ink

Eco-Sol MAX2 and MAX3

Specially formulated Eco-Sol inks in 220 ml cartridges produce vivid colour with genuine outdoor durability, so decals and window graphics survive weather rather than fading in a season. Cartridges load from the front, which matters when the machine sits on a bench against a wall.

Print and Cut

Contour cutting on the same device

Cutting runs from 10 to 150 mm/s with blade force from 30 to 500 gf, using standard Roland CAMM-1 blades. A sheet cut function trims media at the touch of a button, so finished work comes off ready to weed rather than needing a second machine.

Ease of Use

Designed for a first-time operator

Automatic sensor adjustments set the printer to the loaded media, and media set functions handle job setup. Roland supplies media profiles, so a new user reaches good output without learning colour management first.

Software Included

Design and RIP, at no extra cost

FlexiDESIGNER VersaSTUDIO Edition covers design, and VersaWorks 6 handles output with PANTONE and Roland Color System libraries, spot-colour replacement and nesting. Both are included rather than sold separately.

Footprint

Quiet enough to sit beside you

The BN2-20A draws roughly 185 W in operation and 27 W asleep, on ordinary 100-240 V single-phase power, and stays at or below 62 dB(A) while running. It fits a home office, a back room or a corner of a busy shop.

What the BN2 Series makes

Short-run print and cut work on vinyl, film and heat transfer material — the jobs that pay for a desktop machine.

From artwork to finished graphic

Roland DG Connect Designer, VersaWorks 7, and the BY2-20 work together as one connected design-to-print workflow.

Design

FlexiDESIGNER VersaSTUDIO Edition is included, so artwork can be built on the machine that prints it.

Load and set

Media set functions and automatic sensor adjustment configure the printer to the loaded roll without manual measuring.

Print

Up to 1,440 dpi with Eco-Sol MAX2 or MAX3 ink, at 25.2 ft²/h in standard CMYK mode.

Cut and finish

Contour cutting runs on the same pass of the machine, and the sheet cut function separates the finished job at a button press.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the BN2-20A and BN2-30?

Width and ink. The BN2-20A takes media to 20.2 in. and prints and cuts to 18.89 in. in CMYK; the BN2-30 goes to 30 in. and 28.97 in., takes double the roll weight, and adds a five-colour option with white ink. The BN2-30 draws more power (260 W against 185 W) and weighs 164 lbs against 137.

Is it genuinely suitable for a beginner?

Yes. Automatic sensor adjustment sets the printer to the loaded media, Roland supplies media profiles, and both design and RIP software are included. Most operators are producing saleable work without formal training.

Will the prints survive outdoors?

Eco-Sol MAX2 and MAX3 inks are formulated for outdoor durability, so vehicle decals, window graphics and signage hold up to weather rather than fading within a season.

Does it need special power or ventilation?

No. The BN2-20A runs on ordinary 100-240 V single-phase power drawing about 185 W, and stays at or below 62 dB(A) — quiet enough to sit in an office rather than needing a dedicated room.

What software is included?

FlexiDESIGNER VersaSTUDIO Edition for design, VersaWorks 6 for output — with PANTONE and Roland Color System libraries, spot-colour replacement and nesting — and the Roland DG Connect app for monitoring. All at no additional cost.

What warranty comes with it?

A One-Year Limited Warranty, extendable to three years total. Registration also brings free online training and phone support.
