The TrueVIS XG-640 is Roland's professional 64-inch print and cut machine. It prints roughly 50% faster than the VG3 it replaces, runs GBL-free TR3 ink, and adds perforated sheet cutting so finished pieces separate cleanly. Eight-colour configurations widen the gamut when brand colour matters.

Four-colour mode runs up to 242 ft²/h on vinyl, and an eight-colour configuration still reaches 163.6 ft²/h. That turns the XG-640 into a machine you can schedule a day of work around rather than one job at a time.

Eight channels for brand colour
Run CMYK with light cyan, light magenta, orange and green for a wide gamut, or swap to seven colours with double white for clear and coloured media. TR3 ink is GBL-free and denser than the previous generation, so colours hold up.

The XG-640 cuts perforated sheet separations as part of the job, so prints come off the roll ready to break apart. Contour cutting runs 10 to 300 mm/s with 30 to 500 gf of blade force.

Prepare the file
Build the graphic and its cut path, then send the job through VersaWorks 7.
Load the media
Roll media 335 to 1,625 mm wide loads onto the dedicated stand, with the take-up unit handling long runs.

How much faster is the XG-640 than the VG3?

Which ink configuration should I choose?
Four colours suits high-volume everyday graphics. Eight colours adds light cyan, light magenta, orange and green for smoother gradations and a wider gamut. The seven-colour setup swaps in double white for clear and coloured media.
What is GBL-free ink and why does it matter?
TR3 ink leaves out gamma-butyrolactone, a solvent that carries handling and shipping restrictions in some regions. It also runs denser than the previous generation, so colour holds better. Cartridges are paper-based.
Does it cut as well as print?
Yes. Contour cutting is integrated, running 10 to 300 mm/s with 30 to 500 gf of blade force, and the machine also cuts perforated sheet separations so finished pieces break apart cleanly.
What power does it need?
A single supply at 100–120 or 220–240 V a.c., 50/60 Hz, drawing 8.9 A or 4.5 A respectively. Expect roughly 1,180 W while running and about 50 W asleep.
