TA2 Latex Ink
For the TrueVIS AG-640 — 750 ml Pouches
— CMYK plus orange, red and white for a seven-colour gamut, and an optimizer channel that runs on its own printhead.
TA2 is the latex ink for the TrueVIS AG-640, supplied in 750 ml pouches across eight channels. Orange, red and white take the gamut well past a four-colour set for brand-critical and specialty work, while the optimizer runs from its own dedicated printhead. Roland puts running cost at roughly $0.21 per square foot.

Orange, red and white beyond CMYK
A seven-colour configuration reaches brand reds and oranges that a four-colour latex set cannot, plus white for dark and clear substrates. Roland's own comparison puts the AG-640 gamut ahead of the HP Latex 630 even in four-colour mode.
Its own printhead, not a shared channel
The rear printhead is dedicated to optimizer across four nozzle rows, leaving all eight rows of the front head for colour. That is why the optimizer does not cost throughput the way a shared-channel arrangement would.
About $0.21 per square foot
Roland's estimate for everyday commercial graphics work. On a machine running 151 to 167 square feet an hour, ink cost per job is predictable enough to quote from.
Four-colour or seven, both with optimizer
Run CMYK plus optimizer where throughput and cost lead, or CMYKOrReWhWh plus optimizer where gamut and white do. The choice follows the work rather than being fixed by the machine.
Prints that are ready to handle
Latex output comes off the machine dry and ready to finish, without the outgassing wait eco-solvent work needs — which matters most on same-day jobs and short runs.
750 ml pouches, twenty to a case
Pouches rather than cartridges, so more of what you buy reaches the substrate. TA2-CL cleaning liquid is a separate 220 ml item and should be ordered alongside.
What TA2 prints
Everyday commercial graphics on the AG-640, from four-colour production work to specialty jobs that need orange, red or white.

Fits these machines
TA2 is specific to the AG-640. The earlier AP-640 takes TA-XX in 700 ml pouches — a different ink despite the near-identical name.
Frequently asked questions
Which machine takes TA2?
The TrueVIS AG-640, Roland's latex printer/cutter. The earlier AP-640 uses TA-XX in 700 ml pouches — a different ink at a different price, despite the near-identical name.
What does the optimizer do?
It conditions the media so the latex ink lays down and adheres properly. On the AG-640 it runs from its own dedicated printhead, so using it does not cost you colour throughput.
Should I run four colours or seven?
Four colours plus optimizer is the cost and throughput choice and still delivers a broad gamut. Add orange, red and white when the work is brand-colour critical or goes onto dark or clear substrates.
What does the ink cost to run?
Roland estimates roughly $0.21 per square foot for everyday commercial graphics. At 151 to 167 square feet an hour, that is predictable enough to build into a quote.
Do I need cleaning liquid as well?
Yes — TA2-CL in 220 ml. It is a separate item, so order it alongside the ink rather than assuming it ships with the set.
