The GS2-24 is a compact desktop vinyl cutter built for people starting a graphics business or bringing cutting work in-house. It runs at up to 850 mm/s with 500 gf of blade force — a substantial step up from the GS-24 it replaces — and handles hundreds of materials, from heat transfer vinyl to window film. CutStudio is included, so operators with no graphics background can produce saleable work.

Speed

850 mm/s — 70% faster than the GS-24

Cutting runs from 10 to 850 mm/s, against 500 mm/s on the previous generation. On production runs of decals or lettering that difference shows up as finished work per hour rather than as a specification.

Cut Force

500 gf opens up thicker material

Blade force runs 30 to 500 gf, up from 350 gf on the GS-24. The extra force covers heavier and more stubborn stock — reflective film, thicker heat transfer vinyl, sandblast resist — that a lighter cutter struggles with.

Precision

Mechanical resolution of 0.0125 mm

A digital control servo motor drives the media-moving mechanism at 0.0125 mm per step, so small text and intricate detail hold their shape rather than rounding off at the corners.

Connectivity

Ethernet as well as USB

The GS-24 offered USB alone. The GS2-24 adds Ethernet with DHCP support, so the cutter can sit on the network and take jobs from more than one workstation instead of being tethered to one machine.

CutStudio, plus Illustrator and CorelDRAW plug-ins

Roland DG CutStudio is included along with plug-ins for Adobe Illustrator and CorelDRAW, so artwork goes from the design application to the cutter in one workflow. Roland DG Connect support is new to this generation.

Load the material

Media from 50 to 700 mm wide, on a roll with no length restriction or as flat stock from 100 mm.

Cut

Up to 850 mm/s with blade force set between 30 and 500 gf to suit the material.

Weed and apply
